The Alarm bells are going off!

July 27, 2025

WARNING!!!

Beep, beep, beep!  That all too familiar noise we know from our cell phones, warning of impending weather.  You look at the alert and see that a tornado has been confirmed by radar and is approaching your area.  You are told to get underground or go to an interior room in your house, avoid windows and get in your safe space”.

Once that obnoxiously loud alarm goes off, it immediately raises my heart rate.  There is no ignoring that sound that is so loud it could wake the dead (not really, but you know what I mean).  I immediately take inventory of the whereabouts of my pets and family.  We’ve got to get in our safe space and fast.

Wouldn’t it nice to have an app on our phones like that to warn us of impending Rapture?  “Beep, beep, beep, Jesus is coming now! Get in your safe space immediately”.  We don’t.  We are told to watch for His coming.  We are supposed to be vigilant about such things and know for certain that we are living in the last moments of history, and get into our safe space, which is Jesus Christ.

Since the world has always experienced wild weather, earthquakes, violence, pestilence, we become desensitized to it all.  After all, we have lives to here.  We have families, jobs, money problems, health issues, pets, children, homes to take care of, friends, social media, and on and on the list goes. We don’t have time to do all those things AND watch for Jesus’s near return.  Or do we?

One of Satan’s biggest lies that he tells us is not that God doesn’t exist, or that He created the world then left us to fend for ourselves as if we are mere ants on a farm, that amuse Him from afar.  Oh no!  He’s more cleaver than that.  He knows the bible better that we do.  After all He’s had millennia to study God’s word.  Satan tells us that we have “more time”.  He knows that if he can convince us of that lie, we will let our guard down.  As one day rolls into the next, weeks, months, and years go by, we become complacent and lazy in our walk with the Lord.

We were commanded to watch for “signs” of His coming.  We were told to look for violence, earthquakes, pestilences, and the like.  Scoffers will tell us that the earth ALWAYS had such things, and indeed it has, however, we were also told that these things would increase in intensity and frequency.  And they have.  There is more violence on the earth now than ever before; just tun on the news.  Nations are at war and there are rumors of more wars coming.  Mass shootings, violence against children who get caught in sex trafficking rings, ripped from the families that love them, never to be seen again.  And what was the number one sign Jesus told us to watch out for?  Deception!  Deception is everywhere now.  AI is literally being shoved down our throats.  It’s everywhere and people are embracing it as a good thing.  I do believe it has some good uses; however, such things usually get manipulated and very quickly turn bad.  Today, the majority of commercials on YouTube are AI generated.  They are not actors selling a product, they are computer generated, life-like people telling us this is so good for us, we need to run right out and buy it, or do it, or whatever suits their purpose.  What if we turn on YouTube looking for insight and biblical wisdom and channel after channel have people making videos, saying they had dreams where they saw Jesus and He told them that He’s not coming back until 2055?  We might believe it, right?  After all, so many people couldn’t possibly have the same prophetic dream unless it’s really true.  WRONG!  Deception is running rampant and we are so inundated in it, it’s hard to distinguish truth from fiction these days.

So how do we know the difference?  What is going to be our plumb line of truth?  The Bible, and ONLY the bible.  We don’t need anything or anyone to tell us what’s coming down the line.  The word of God does that for us.  Have we become so lazy as a society that we have abandoned reading God’s word for ourselves, and rely now on others to teach us?  People make mistakes, people put their own spin on things.  We should not rely on a pastor, YouTuber, or anyone else to interoperate God’s word for us.  Take five minutes each day and read just one chapter.  Get His word IN you.  He will do the rest.  If you don’t understand it, ask for wisdom and understanding. Mark 11:24 tells us “Therefore, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them”.  God will see to it that you get the understanding that you desire.  He wants to reveal Himself to us.  He turns away no one who seeks Him.

Friends, I implore you.  Deception is all around us like a cloak of darkness, keeping us confused and confounded.  Don’t allow deception to creep into your spiritual life.  Stay the course.  Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, for He is coming sooner than any of us think He is.

Some will say we are in the “last days” but I believe we are in the last “moments” before the Lord’s glorious return.  What kind of people should we be then?  Be kind to one another, bearing each other’s burdens, lifting each other up in prayer and giving thanks to God, who has given graciously to us.

Jesus is on the way.  He will be here soon to take us up to meet Him in the air.  Time to get into your safe space!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, You love us so much that You sent Your one and only Son, so precious to behold, to become sin for us and be condemned, beaten, and nailed to a cross, to pay the price for each and every one of our sin stained souls, so that in Jesus, we will be made new again, washed in His holy blood.  We thank you for salvation in Jesus, and long for His coming.  May Your Holy Spirit speak to the hearts of those who are Yours, confirming our salvation, and grating us renewed strength to not grow weary in waiting, or allow ourselves to  be distracted with the cares of this life, which is but a vapor, but to be filled with the peace and knowledge that Jesus is coming very soon.  Give us the ability, and boldness to share Jesus with those around us.  Bless us as we wait for our eternal King, and for those who are not sure of their salvation, will you instill in them the confidence they need to know that they are a child of the King, and remind them that Jesus said He has not lost a single child that you have given Him.  Help them to believe in their heart that they are saved and give them peace in that knowledge.  For those who have never accepted the amazing gift of salvation, will You please open the eyes of their hearts to see YOU as their loving Father, and the great love You have for them?  Help them to believe in the one and only mediator between You and Us, which is Jesus Christ.  Allow them to experience the power of Your Holy Spirit, Who leads us on the path of righteousness.  Reach out to the lost in Your great mercy.  Save them this very day, our loved ones, our friends, our coworkers, and neighbors.  We thank you, Father for being with us always and never leaving us.  Come quickly Jesus, Maranatha!  AMEN
